In 2005 Oma entered her last chapter of this life-stream. She had been asking Jesus to take her home for some time but in January of that year after having been knocked down by three major health challenges, her requests became earnest. Soon her prayers were answered. Tumors spread through her system, pressing more and more on her lungs to restrict her breathing. It required an ever increasing regimen of pain medication to keep her comfortable and as I, her youngest son, was her primary care-giver I was fully occupied with that task. Taking care of Oma's physical needs and helping her to focus on the spiritual aspect of preparing for her transition was my full time activity for almost a year. |

It has been said that: "Old age is not for sissies." Well neither is dying. Still this has been a very rich time for both mother and I. We were blessed to be able to be together in our Shambhala and share this special chapter with the full support of My Love and our family. I will be writing more about our experience as time permits. In keeping with a promise I made to Oma, there is at least one book in the future. In the meantime we have assembled some pictures and a few essays which you are welcome to share. You can follow the progress of Oma's transition through these Essays and Updates sent to family. Oma took her last breath on March 15th at two in the morning. A celebration of Oma's Life was held on her birthday; April 24th, 2006 Oma's final wish was granted on June 21, 2006 - The Summer Solstice Well Wishes - A small sampling of greetings and e-mails
